Zhúzhalka is an artistic collective from Donetsk in Ukraine which deals with different media like photography, samizdat, video and installation. During their three-week-long artistic residency in the city of Pilsen zhúzhalka created a photographic work called Edge. Focusing on the current Ukrainian situation, they are working on issues of transitions and changes, highlighting parallels in history and flexibility of (inner) borders.

..... Over the past 50 years, the East/West border line has shifted from Czech Republic (1968) to Ukraine (2014): “East/West – yesterday it’s your problem, today – it’s our’s” .....

This artistic residency took place as part of the OPEN A.i.R. Artist-in-Residence programme which is implemented under the auspices of the Pilsen – European Capital of Culture 2015 project.
